Fountain Society
The Fountain Society exists to conserve our heritage of fountains from the past and to develop new fountains in the present and the future. Its activities include: giving advice on the design, construction, siting, lighting and maintenance of fountains; holding meetings, lectures and exhibitions, and organising visits to fountains in the UK and elsewhere; compiling a national register of fountains; promoting research into subjects directly connected with the objects of the Society; and publishing the results of any such research; acting as a co-ordinating body and co-operating with all bodies and persons who have aims similar to those of the Society; publishing papers, reports and other literature; surveying and collecting information about any plan, or building connected with fountains, waterfalls or cascades; and raising funds and developing all these activities. The Society publishes a Newsletter each quarter.
