About the NBS software support area

At NBS, we want you to get the best from your software.  To help you do this, we offer training, online educational modules – and software support.

The NBS Software Support team are always happy to help you with any problems you may be experiencing with your NBS software, and are available between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.

To enhance the support available to NBS subscribers the online support area has been designed to help customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What's in it?

The NBS Software Support Area covers all NBS electronic products, whether delivered by CD-ROM or online.  The knowledge base includes detailed descriptions and solutions for any technical difficulties you may encounter in addition to any common editorial queries that you may have.

How do I use it?

Simply enter your search term and press Return or click the 'Search' button.  In order to find more specific results you can filter your search by product and key words to build a more detailed query and narrow down the articles returned.

  • Choose your product – select your NBS product from the drop-down list to the right of the search box. If you don't choose a specific product, the search engine will look for information on all NBS products matching your search.
     
  • Choose search term type – if you are searching for more than one word, you can choose whether the search engine looks for all words (i.e. all of the words you entered must be included in the result), any word (i.e. any of the words you entered can be included, but not necessarily all of them on the same page), or exact phrase (i.e. the words you entered must all appear and in the precise order in which you entered them). If you don't choose a specific search term type, the search engine will look for all words appearing anywhere in a results page.

By using these advanced features in combination, you can build up very specific queries. For example, if you are an NBS Building subscriber and you would like to know how to print out a single work section rather than your entire specification:

  • enter the term Printing Contents in the search box
  • select NBS Building from the drop-down list
  • click on the Exact phrase radio button
  • press Return or click the 'Search' button.

This will give you a search results page leading you to exactly the information you need.
