Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC)

The JNCC is the UK body with responsibility for promoting nature conservation at UK and international levels. It is the coordinating body between the Countryside Council for Wales, English Nature and Scottish Natural Heritage, and it is responsible for: establishing common scientific standards; undertaking and commissioning research; advising ministers on policies affecting nature conservation; and providing advice and information to people and organisations on nature conservation.
