Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport aims to improve the quality of life for all through cultural and sporting activities and through the strengthening of the creative industries. The DCMS has the responsibility for maintaining the list of over 500,000 listed buildings in England. Ministers take the decisions on whether to add new buildings of special architectural interest.
